Brits, The Executive Mayor, Cllr Mpho Magongwa together with her mayoral committee visited Majakaneng on 20 April, with the aim of enhancing dialogue between government and the people.
During her address she elaborated on issues of water supply, roads, public lighting, land and housing as well as formalization and cemeteries.
“Our Municipality has over the past five years or more been one of the hardest hit by the scourge of semi-dry conditions that led to normal water supply sources like underground water being scarce and at times drying up”, she said. “Once the upgrade of the Brits water purification plant is done, it will be able to increase the current supply by 20 megalitres per day.
“The municipality is in the process of introducing a flat rate on water in the outlaying areas such as this cluster”, she continued.
